Return Policy

Black Lab Imaging® wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from us. We have a return policy which is fair and easy. If you must return an item, we will do our best to make your experience a pleasant one.
No matter how a purchase was made, we welcome any consumer to simply bring the item with receipt to our 24 Main Street, Flemington, NJ storefront. Our staff will gladly assist you with obtaining an exchange, credit or refund.

To return an item via carrier (UPS, Fed Ex, USPS, etc.), we would ask that you please observe the following:

Once received, we would ask that you:

  1.  Print the Authorization
  2.  Pack the item carefully into a shipping carton
  3.  Include the printed Authorization
  4.  Send the parcel, in an insured and traceable fashion, to our address at:

Black Lab Imaging makes every effort to address returns we receive (for exchange, credit, or refund) within 2 business days. Should you have questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Service Team.

We have a few simple and reasonable rules regarding returns. Please read them carefully before you make a purchase.


14-day Return Period

Black Lab Imaging® accepts returns or exchanges up to 14 days from the original purchase. If an item is damaged or missing parts, a claim must be made within 2 business days of your purchase.

Original Receipt Required

Your original receipt is required for all returns, exchanges, and warranty repair services. All returns and exchanges must be in original, unopened, and new condition and include all accessories, manuals, packaging, blank warranty cards, cables, power supplies, etc.

Free-Shipping Items

Returns on orders where free shipping has been given, applicable shipping charges will be deducted from any refund. The only exception to this practice would be if the return was due to an error on the part of Black Lab Imaging, LLC.

Orders that Include Free Items

Black Lab Imaging is pleased to offer special promotions on select products where additional free items may be given. Returns on these products without the inclusion of the bonus items will result in a deduction from any credit given. In cases where a non-returnable item had been offered as part of a promotion, the value upon return will also be deducted.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Labor, services, and processing
  • Consumable items (film, paper, chemistry, bulbs, CDs, DVDs, tapes, inks, backgrounds, memory cards, batteries, software, etc.)
  • Items that have signs of usage, show wear or have been damaged or abused
  • Microphones
  • Special order items
  • Limited or Special Edition Items
  • Clearance Items or those marked with an Orange Sticker
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Damaged or Defective Items

Defective items may be repaired, exchanged, or refunded at our discretion for the same model or manufacturer’s equivalent model. Return shipping fees for verified defective or damaged items will be reimbursed.


Please allow 3-5 business days for mail-in exchanges to be processed.

Pre-orders & Back-orders

At times you may be offered the ability to purchase items from the store or online site that are currently on back-order or pre-order. These are items that we know we will be receiving from the manufacturer in the foreseeable future. We offer no guarantees on product availability or date and time of delivery. Most factors in delivery time fall on the burden of the manufacturer. It is with your understanding that you are purchasing these items knowingly that we do not have them physically in stock and that you except the unknown wait time. Back-orders and pre-orders are fulfilled in the order we receive them when supply becomes available from the manufacturer. Black Lab Imaging makes every effort to communicate with the manufacturer for updates in delivery times and when possible, relay this information to you, the buyer. If you choose to cancel the order you will be reimbursed your order total, minus the credit card processing fee of 2.9% which is non-refundable by Square (credit card processor). You can avoid this fee by opting for an item exchange or store credit in the form of an E-Gift card. The only exception to this practice would be if the return was due to an error on the part of Black Lab Imaging, LLC.

Additional Information

Black Lab Imaging® reserves the right to request identification of anyone making a return. A minimum restocking fee of 15% may be charged if the return falls outside the parameters we have listed above. Refunds will generally be in the same form as the original payment. However, when the item was purchased with cash, debit, or a check for more than $100, the refund will be in the form of a check mailed to you within 10 business days. Credit card refunds require that you have the exact credit card that was used for the purchase to receive credit. Due to changes in Square’s refund policy, you will be responsible for the credit card processing fee of 2.9% and this will be deducted from your refund, the only exception to this practice would be if the return was due to an error on the part of Black Lab Imaging, LLC. To avoid the 2.9% processing fee, you may opt for store credit in the form of an E-Gift card.

Limited Liability

Black Lab Imaging is not responsible for merchandise damaged by customer misuse or failure to properly follow instructions in the supplied product manual. Black Lab Imaging is not responsible for personal data or unexposed film left in returned items. We reserve the right to refuse any return. Policy subject to change at any time without notice.
